| India was the most intense and amazing experience of my entire life.
I kid you not when I say that I have NEVER felt more like myself than I did there, specifically the third week onwards.
I hope it carries over.. I'd hate to lose what I gained over there. Coming into my own, if you get what I'm saying. Comforting.
Two weeks together and those were some of the hardest good-byes I've ever had to say.
It's weird that the culture shock was more intense coming home - going over it was like "it's loud, crowded, dirty, tropical, and I expected this". Coming back is "it's quiet, low, smooth, clean, empty, and I NEVER NOTICED". It's a little mind-blowing.
I miss it (I miss them). I'd go back in a minute.
| Summer. Appleton. Boredom. Frustration. Inadequacy and incapacity.
Andrew. 1,102 miles.
Millston. 26 days.
India. 51 days.
I'm not sure if I've ever actually had real banana pancakes, but I miss them so much.

| I LOVE COLLEGE.
I'm in two choirs, the top one - Concert Choir - and a women's choir - Hildegard - which is kinda required if you're in concert. Our director is new and crazy and African-American and I love him. Harry Waters, Jr. is probably the most intense person I've ever met, and I can't imagine anyone else with whom I'd like to study theatre. We had to write a short story about an emotional memory we had when we were 5, 6, or 7 ... and then he made us read it in front of the class, which I HATE - my hands were shaking - but it really wasn't too bad. Everyone in my class (which equals on my wing of Turck 4) is absolutely wonderful - there's no one I dislike. My days have been filled with class, auditions, Apples to Apples, staying up til 4:30 in Dylan and Oleh's room with Caitlin. My roommate and I get along superwell, and I'm starting voice lessons on Friday with a fantastic teacher who happened to go to school with my mom some 30 years ago. There's a brand new gym where I'll be working out daily, and with Harry's intense warmups and Yoga class two days a week (which is a lot more hardcore than it sounds) .... it's been amazing. I can't wait to go back to choir class in October and tell everyone how awesome college is. Ahahaaaaaaa wow.
I miss everyone and, especially in light of recent events, really wish I could be home. But for now, I'll take this.
Love x a million. | | |
| I need only say one thing:
I'm scared as hell for college.
